Challenge

The starting point

TEAMBLADI's founder wanted to build a European fightwear brand for the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA community — one with real cultural identity, not another generic logo-on-a-rashguard label competing on price against the big international brands. At the start, in 2017, there was no brand name, no visual identity, no manufacturer, no online store and no product line — just a clear vision and a community the major fightwear brands don't design for.

02
Approach

What we did

M73LAB has built TEAMBLADI end-to-end since 2017, taking it from an idea to a real, shipped product line that launched in 2018 — brand strategy and naming, a full visual identity, manufacturer sourcing and the import pipeline, managed start to finish. The identity is built around "Bladi" — an Arabic expression for "my homeland," redefined around mindset rather than origin — with a signature geometric pattern rooted in North African heritage appearing across the whole range. We built and ran the original WooCommerce store until 2022, then migrated the brand to Shopify — custom-coding both platforms (WooCommerce customizations, then Shopify Liquid) to fit features the brand actually needed, like the "Build Your Fighter Identity" personalizer that lets customers add their name, team and flags to a rashguard at checkout. On the product side, the range grew well beyond the original two collections — Senshi (competition-grade rashguards, shorts and spats in IBJJF belt colours) and Tabia (a sand-and-jungle-toned lifestyle line) — into MMA and grappling shorts, boxing gloves, streetwear drops (Zanqa), a premium embroidered jersey line (Equipe), and collaboration pieces for fight-night events (The Chosen). Social media, photography and content are handled entirely in-house, and we built a dedicated wholesale funnel for BJJ academies into the store. Brand, product, sourcing, store and social all sit under one roof — still run by M73LAB today.
